Connecting Audiences – Connecting Brands!
It’s been a while since we at Comshows have blogged about what we’ve been up to. It has been an exciting time this Spring with impressive projects delivered utilising state of the art technology. We have really utilised our renowned video experience to really blur the lines between events and video creating truly interactive experiences.
A common theme for clients is a way to truly exhibit and awaken the senses of a brand through exhibitions and events. This was achieved on behalf of Yahoo on 20 March 2014 at The Purple Door, Piccadilly, London through immersive product zones using projection mapping. One product was not quite developed for the launch but through video animation the same experience in this live environment was realised.

3 Top Tips To Make Your Exhibition Stand Out From The Crowds!
How do you encourage traffic to your stand? Keep visitors engaged?
How can your brand presence be strengthened and be a cut above the rest?
In the spirit of sharing creativity and trends for the future, we thought we would share a couple of production team and vimeo examples we’ve seen from others that are perfect to illustrate the blending of video and exhibitions to create impact.
1. The WOW of video – a Window On your World. As exhibition venues are often noisy environments explore freestyle graphic illustration and visual representation driven by video to demonstrate your product. Take it one step further and incorporate some humour with a tailored 3d computer animation to tell your story. These solutions can be carefully tailored to your brand with high impact and a definite talking point!

2. Encourage communication to start long before your first visitor arrives at the stand! Take advantage of social media to filter out a video teaser or viral pre-exhibition to encourage visitors to come to your stand and pre-book meetings. This can be followed on with a competition or interactive solution to really engage and provide a memorable experience amongst the masses.
3. A relatively new creative technology which always gets us excited is 3d projection mapping which allows you to project onto any structure and breathe life through a new modern age exhibition structure. In conjunction with the production of 3D bespoke computer animated filming with even original sound tracks. The tables are turned and the exhibition environment is viewed as much more of an experience which triggers all of the senses, similar to a simulator!

Video Blogging and Press Releases – The Art Of A Good Conversation!
A staggering statistic of 80% of traffic on the internet being video based in 2 years means that businesses are beginning to see that they need to think differently about how they operate day to day. Many are seeing video as a tool to bring to life annual reports, blogs and promotional materials.
Have a think about what else in your workplace you think could be presented differently or more regularly using video to provide a window on your world?
For example a video blog could take place in a range of locations and as part of a series take consumers on a journey and provide a fun insight into an area of interest. Top tip – film a series of blog materials in 1 day to save costs and filter out on social media at different times to ensure you have resource content at your fingertips!
To whet your appetite see below to explore the art of a good conversation versus traditional printed methods.
Video Blog – Doing Good Business – How WRAP Supports the Circular Economy?
Recycling and how WRAP (an organisation dedicated to creating a world without waste) supports a circular economy and businesses is a particular newsworthy item. This clip produced in 1 day under tight deadlines was timed to perfection linking into a range of partner activities such as the launch of the Ellen MacArthur charitable Foundation.

Linda Carroll-Doggrell, Managing Director, Comshows ” This video press release and blog we produced for WRAP is a simple yet novel way of bringing a leading expert to life through conversation rather than the written word. This is a powerful tool to communicate complex issues and develop real understanding. It had great impact in the media, partner sites and social media. It is still used as a much used and needed on-line resource today for businesses!”
World Travel Market – London – Excel Centre 2012
This week saw Comshows visit the World Travel Market (WTM) conference in London. We used it as an opportunity to catch up on the latest developments within the travel market to see if there were some interesting new destinations that had slipped our attention!
We were impressed by the regional set-ups which had a uniformity in terms of colour and their stand design. At the same time, they were great at expressing their own individual cultures. A special mention of course to the Brazil stand with a great replica football for all the sporting fans!
Destinations
Also, we were enthusiastic about the Russian destinations. Both Moscow and St Petersburgh provide an interesting background to any overseas conferences, with some really opulent hotels and buildings that are really rich in design heritage and combined with the ongoing developments in the conference and exhibitions centres. It is beginning to look like a really interesting destination that should be looked at. Combined with being the gateway from Europe to the Far East and only a short hop from the Middle East, it should be high on the list for a global internal conference.
Exhibitions Stands
There were some really interesting and colourful stands at the show with Brazil, Peru and Costa Rica reinforcing the colourful heritage of their respective countries. The Holland stand was great for its focus on a really simple construction solution but really focus on how to bring in a really strong design thought process into the idea.
Look at the pictures below to see why we got so excited:
Whilst we don’t want to give away what we think it cost, we do think this is the most original use pop ups that we have seen with a very clear focus on the colour of the structure and how they then used the graphics.
We hope to show you some more pictures from a trip to WTM soon.
COMMUNICATING ON A SHOESTRING: 5 TOP TIPS!
The smartphone user represents the bulk of the new generation of audiences who challenge us to fully embrace the digital age to fit in with their busy lifestyles. In this current climate, it is even more imperative to find the best platform/s to communicate short term and long terms goals. Companies that fail to deliver their messages and keep in touch with their audiences or consumers risk being margalised and left behind.
So, how can clients communicate and deliver their strategies in a low cost option we hear you ask?
1. Build a fully branded on-line community with expert speakers detailing growing trends, product updates and even updating on good practice is a recipe for success. Combining live events, tutorials, video podcasts and free social media strategy is the key. There is also the opportunity to raise additional revenue and sponsorship through pay-per viewing of events and podcasts on your website. Even with virtual .. the little things still matter and creative ways to enable people to “bump” into each other can really add a new.
